“IT IS NOT ABOUT WHAT YOU DO IN YOUR UNIQUE SHOES. IT IS ABOUT HOW YOU FEEL WHEN YOU DO IT”

SIMON BOURNE  #THESHOEGUY
FOUNDER OF HAND DYED SHOE CO. AND MEN'S MENTAL HEALTH EXTRAORDINAIRE
LEATHERS

We carefully select beautifully soft, calf skin leather to craft the upper of your shoes, from the finest Italian tanneries. We use calf skin for its softer and porous properties that will allow your feet to breathe and the shoe to wrap around the foot, providing ultimate comfort.

HAND DYED TO A TONE

Our shoes are beautifully hand dyed and each tone defines its unique personality in every pair we create. The dyes are mixed from extract, alcohol and water, we work with small batches so that each time we mix we create a new tone from those raw ingredients.

ONE OF ONE - WORKSHOPS NOT FACTORIES

Our shoes aren't mass produced. We work on one pair at a time, in a sequential order based on when our orders come in. We cut each section of the shoe from the leather before it's then hand dyed and stitched together. Once the upper is together, it's wrapped round a last where it sits for at least five days before the sole adhered with a Blake welt for a refined, flexible fit.

PATINA

Our shoes are quality, beautiful and bench made. We'll add the finishing touches in our studio and carefully wrap your shoes in cotton shoe bags before sending them out to you with our quality courier services.

CERTIFICATE OF PROVENANCE

Don't forget to keep hold of your certificate of provenance which will come with your shoes, smeared with the dye from your artist's fingers and signed by the man himself.

UPDATES

When you place your order with us, we'll keep you up to date throughout the crafting process with regular updates on where your shoes are in the production planner.

Size Guide

Work Out Your Size

To determine your size:

1. Use a ruler or tape measurer to measure your foot (from the heel to the tip of your longest toe).

2. Choose a table below

3. Find the closest measurement, in inches, that is equal to or greater than the length of your foot. For example, a man whose foot measures 11 1/4 (11.25) inches is a size 11.5.

MEASURING TIPS

• Make it easier by drawing around your feet with a pen placed at 90 degrees and flush against your skin.

• To ensure an accurate reading when measuring, flatten your foot by shifting your weight forward.

• If your measurement is between two sizes, always move up to the larger size.

For your width, you don't need to measure. Base your choice on what you normally buy on the high street. If you typically order a size 10, but you feel like you do this because of width, order a 'G Wide' fit.

If you're unsure, simply get in touch with us and we will post you a size guide out along with some complimentary tape measures to help you work it out more specifically.
