Construction

You are about to begin creating your handmade shoes using our world class 3D customisation tool. Before we start, you need to choose your preferred construction method. Here's some education on how our shoes can be made.

Goodyear Construction

Goodyear welting is the oldest, most labour intensive, and most durable of the three methods of construction. Since the early 17th century, the Goodyear Welting process has been associated with excellence and superior workmanship. Typically, a Goodyear welted shoe would outlast Blake construction but they do take a few more wears to break in.

Blake Construction

Blake welting was introduced around the time of the industrial revolution. It's a quicker, less labour intensive method and involves stitching the outsole to the upper directly through the the outsole. The benefits of Blake constructions includes flexibility and a much quicker breaking-in-period.
